SELECTIVE PALLET RACKS

SELECTIVE PALLET RACKS

Quantity

Selective pallet racking is the most widely used warehouse storage system, designed to provide direct, individual access to every pallet without having to move other pallets out of the way. It consists of horizontal beams connected to vertical upright frames, creating rows of shelving where pallets are loaded and unloaded using forklifts.

Key Features:

  • Direct access – Every pallet position is reachable from the aisle, ideal for operations with many SKUs or frequent picking
  • Flexible configuration – Beam levels can be adjusted to accommodate different pallet heights and load sizes
  • Cost-effective – Lower upfront cost compared to high-density systems like drive-in or push-back racking
  • Easy installation & scalability – Simple to expand, reconfigure, or relocate as storage needs change
  • High-throughput friendly – Works well with standard forklifts (reach trucks, counterbalance, etc.)

Best suited for:
Warehouses and distribution centers with a large variety of products, moderate to high SKU counts, and a need for fast, first-in-first-out (FIFO) inventory access. It's less space-efficient than high-density racking (since it requires an aisle for every row), but its accessibility and flexibility make it the go-to choice for general warehousing.
